Default So where's my amp? 94 standard convertible

Working through all sorts of issues with the newly acquired 94 (93 really) XJS standard convertible, I recently replaced my radio as I was not getting any output to my antenna. After the install, I now have my antenna working, but no sound from any of my speakers. (This was also an issue before the radio replacement) I looked up the vin and it says I have the premium stereo sytem. Since there are more speakers than 4 speakers, I assume there is an amp somewhere...where might it be?Thanks in advance. If there is no amp, where might the connector be, wiring diagram shows at least one?

Jagrepair.com would probably have the wiring diagrams for any factory installed amp you may have.

The 95-96 models with a CD changer had it trunk mounted. Drivers side. Maybe there’s something back there?

It's not near the CD changer, but my next area to check was behind the spare tire...I'll give it a look.

I wasn't aware that any of the XJS audio systems had a separate amp?

Even with the "premium sound system"? More speakers than what I see listed in the electrical wiring diagram I was able to find. I see at least 6, so I assume there must be an amp somewhere.

Can you add some pics of these extra speakers? I'm not sure that was a factory option.

so it the standard convertible, no back seats, two are behind the seats in the bulkhead if you will. Two more on the side panels above it,(sort of behind the doors) and then the door speakers...It looks factory, but I don't know for sure. I was really looking for the connector where they attach to the harness, but then I was thinking there must be an amp somewhere. Leaving on vacation tomorrow, so not sure if I'll have time to look for this for another week.

It's odd that the electrical diagrams makes no mention of any additional speakers at all.

Furthermore, if there was an amp, there would definitely be a dedicated fuse for it, yet nothing on any diagram.

yeah I agree...but sometime those odd ball add ons don't get documented as well...or maybe in a supplemental release note or something...I'll find out soon enough...just trying to get some info on it beforehand.

The 2 on the rear bulkhead aren't standard AFAIK.
