Default Steering rack bushings - CAC1635 or CBC9107

Hi,

I am planning to change the steering rack bushings but various sites give me different information regarding what bushings are needed for my XJS '95. While some say that I need a kit of 3 bushings that all look like CAC1635, others suggest that I need 1x CAC1635 and 2xCBC9107 (which look quite different). So what am I supposed to use?

Thanks a lot,

Alex

They will all fit but CBC 9107 will give you much better steering response.

Thanks baxtor! So I'll get two 9107 and one 1635 then =) What's interesting however, I can't find any aftermarket (polyurethane) CBC9107... So is stock my only choice? And is it worth then to replace only one 1635 with aftermarket while leaving two 9107 stock?

Poly will be designed as a replacement for 1635 not 9107. You could go for all poly or the combination you mentioned. Will be more or less the same result.
Both poly and the 9107 have an integral shoulder which helps stop lateral movement whereas stock 1635's do not.
