Do you have a picture? Doesn't ring any bells to me. Probably part of an aftermarket alarm or other accessory.

Cheers

Mine has a dimmer knob for the dash lights, but no button. Maybe it's the Lucas self destruct?

Agreed with Jamey. Very likely it is self destruct for when you've had it with the car.

Definitely sounds like aftermarket. My vote goes for alarm installation.

Agree with Flint. I have seen many cars with the emergency alarm disable button in this place. (If the remote dies you push it a numkber of times within a set time or similar to switch off the alarm.)

What year is your car? I have a '93 and have the same button. I was wondering what it was for, myself.

Could it be the valet switch? In searching for how to reset my keyless entry system, I realized that maybe that's what it could be.

Valet and emergency "off" switch were usually the same.
