Default Tires

I've started looking around for tires. I also picked up a set of rims, the lattice style from a 92 XJS. I noted that that car lists a slightly different tire size than what is on my car on the starfish rims. Mine are 215/70-15, and the tire for the lattice wheel is 235/65-15. It appears that either should work ok on my car.
What are you guys running for tires these day in the states?

Thanks, Chap

I have Cooper Cobra 235/65-15 tires and no complaints so far. But I've only driven it on warm sunny days.

Ive run a number of tires, seem to burn through them abnormally fast.

Currently on a setof meaty Goodrich advantage A/T mud/snow rated, they seem hardier and grippy compared to my yokohama touring tires.

I'd of gotten Perelli which is traditional but theyre special order in Canada.

Really depends on what you DO, I drive every day I can except blizzards (wont make that mistake again) so all terrian is my thing most people casually drive on sunny days and don't need the bear claw tires.

Same as this ^^^^^
Love them. Right size and look I think.
Got them for good money on the Tire Rack site.

i prefer the look of the factory 15" wheels but the performance advantage of going to a modern tire size is huge.

I'm a bit surprised by your tire size, as my 92 (4.0) has 235/60-15 on the lattice wheels and that's the correct size according to the handbook. I wonder if they're bigger circumference on the HE cars? Mine are Goodrich but need replacing so I'll go with Coopers like yours (thanks for the recommendations) next time. Then back to OE with Pirelli P600s if I ever have to sell, lol.

Here are a couple pictures that probably better show the proportions with the 18's

Stock size on my car shows 235/60 15. I had grand am radial GT tires on it with the stock rims they were a fine commuter tire on a stock car.

I'm also running 235/60 15 Cooper Cobras. I like them, however I must admit that part of me wishes that I would have gone with a higher speed rating. Not that I go super fast, but just that little bit of "just in case" thought. Lol
