Craig,

I dont know of them, and I usually get what I need, from Simon at SNG Barratt UK, NEVER had an issue,

Any of the suppliers that sponsor this site will be suitable.

BUT

The 3 leg Bourns style is available again, and there are numerous threads from Greg and Co regarding the part number etc. SNG or David Manners seems to be the the go.

I swapped mine for the 2 leg, a s/hand from an XJ40, waaaaaay back, before computers and Forums. Same as the X300 unit by the way, coz I took note when I had the X300 apart.

My PDF is attached.

There was some messing around, but it worked out, lots of thinking, and analysing, one item at a time.

I was gonna say that it's probably just a duplicate/pattern part but, heck, it might be the real thing. Bourns is still out there.....

Have you guys had any experience with these parts or will they be ok?

I got one (can't remember where...possibly Terry's) a few months ago and it works fine so far

Cheers

Just purchased one from SNG. Was the best price too, so on her way.

Thanks guys.

Ok...

At the moment she runs okay but because the TPS has dead spots and was extremely sensitive, it drives differently than before. Obviously this will change once I install the new TPS.

1: Seems to have more power overall and better response
2: Stalls at traffic lights after de-throttling and squeezing the trigger, but will idle fine
3: Has started to backfire after de-throttling and once throttle has been touched lightly.

Can a Faulty or out of sync TPS cause backfires?

Cheers
Craig

YES, coz the "fuel cut off" on over-run is probably not working, or at best, only partially.

Using some speaker cable (trimmed) and wrapped around terminal posts and taped up.

Will use the pins on my multi-meter to insert into the other end of speaker wire for solid testing!

Hi Doug,

No, but looks the same as the original Lucas but with no markings. Does not seem to rotate quite as smoothly as the original but maybe age does that?

It runs through its voltage perfectly though.

Adding the speaker cable allowed me to set it up in literally 5 minutes, was super easy!

Has anyone trialed running stop setting at around 0.15 vdc and maybe up to 0.50 vdc?

Does this increase response or give any other benefits?

If not, I might try a few settings and report back.

Cheers

Yep.

HAVOC.

The ECU is looking for that magical 0.32 - 0.36 as its idle marker.

6CU probably not as fussy as the later 16CU units.

Fuel shut off, as in injector pulse will occur below those numbers, and above that, the engine will hunt at cruising throttle.

By all means play around, I did, and I had NO Forums, or computers to refer to, just kept at it until it was as the shop settings said, took days, and way too many beers.

I took/wrote notes, LOTS of scribbles, no camera back then.
