Default Transmission mount

In the attachment below, Grant talks about the "SPECIAL WASHER" #28 for the transmission mount.
I do not have this washer. What have you all been using as a replacement? I have been looking for a washer(1/2") that fits snugly on the pin but cannot find one that has the proper OD to fit snugly into the cotton reel bushing. Is this washer available anywhere?
I was able to purchase the double washer that goes at the bottom of the bushing.

Can I install the trans mount without the Special washer?

Sanchez,

As you'll have seen from the Jaguar Parts website, the part number is C29011. Although Jaguar don't have the part, a few people seem to have made it. Just put the part number into eBay and you'll find options. In the UK, I found a few, see here for an example:

JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 AND 3 XJ6 XJ12 GEARBOX MOUNTING DOUGHNUT WASHER C29011 | eBay

Cheers

Paul

Aussie speak.

1/2" "flat section" spring washer.

You should have plenty in the coffee jars of stuff we all collect, HA.

@ptjs; Grant
The link you posted for C29011 will not ship to the US. They are available in AUS but the shipping is 3X the cost of the washer.
I looked through my stash
of bolts/nuts and washers but I cannot find one with the proper OD for the bushing
I am going to take the bushing with me to the store to see if I can find something. What thickness washer should I be looking for?

Not giving up, I went through some spares I had put in my shed 2-3 years ago and I found the special washer #28.
Happily I went back into my garage and found the following.
The special washer fits and slides in the hole of the old bushing.
The hole of the new poly bushing is smaller so I have to force the special washer inside. I fits so tight that it will not move unless I apply a lot of force to it.
What is the best fix? Does the washer have to slide up and down in the bushing?
Here are some pics.

I can force it in.

Goodo,

That special washer is designed as a friction force fit inside the cotton reel, thus STOPPING the rear of the trans from bouncing around. Like a suspension shock absorber.

They are tight by design.

Push it in with the space sleeve, and let it be.

I only use Poly cotton reels, so have zero idea of fit in the rubber units.

Grant: Thank you. I will install as you recommend. I guess over time the special washer will do what it was intended to do.
