Default Transmission type

Is it fairly common for an XJS to come with a Turbo 350? I was told that mine had a Turbo 400, but I went to take it apart and voila, 350 instead. All the research I did said they either came with the BW12 on the early years, or the TH400 later on. Just curious...

Nope. Jag never used the TH350....although they should have, IMHO. I suspect it was a swap by a previous owner.....with some sort of adapter plate, I presume.

Why do you like the 350 better?

It soaks up less horsepower than the 400.
