Default V12 Tappets Camshaft

I've a problem with tappets gap. My mashinist asked about oversize. Does somebody know about this?
NAC2543AA is still available, but is STD.
The engine is very noisy as the diesel

And further. What is the difference between 5.3 and 6.0 camshafts

Never heard of oversize buckets for these engines.

Most of the noises are due to the wrong shim sizes UNDER those buckets.

I realise that the buckets can wear the tappet block on the V12, due to lack of oil flow, but I have never heard noises from that complaint.

If its worn that bad, a new alloy tappet block would be needed.

i have heard of copper plating OD outside diameter, a few thou. if it is to big just light hone of carrier bore, sounds doable to me

but not the lope contact surface , chilled iron hard.

also there were some much larger diameter for race only camshafts!

donno about 5.3 VS 6.0 camshafts, but seems the pre 5.3 and HE 5.3 cams are different, must be so, lot more low end torque with HE 5.3. altho logic says, FORD engineers would alter cam specs for the 6.0 for emission reasons!

also timing numbers are different, HE reduces overlap, and lowers rpm potential, HE drops hi-rpm torque peak earlier than pre-he peak.

now on my pre i loosened the tappets/follower clearence couple thou. some old go-fast idea! no problem , i have nice noisey lash clearance anyway. RACE CAMS.

Are you sure you don't have a dropped valve seat or two? Jag V12s get more quiet as they wear. Being a overhead cam engine, the valve face wear, along with the valve seat wear, cause the valve stem to get closer to the shim, not further away. If anything, a Jag V12 would be more likely to burn a valve, drop a valve seat, not have the cam followers loosen up. But, as already mentioned, the lare diameter cam followers were for all out race engines using VERY high lift cams, which required the larger cam followers. Very rare, and VERY expensive.

The 6.0L has 1thou less lift and a slower ramp than the 5.3L HE according to my ROM

.

tr6,, i am quite sure there are no dropped seats,LOL.

been running great for 21yrs, valve clatter is normal for my valve train setup, have checked a few times with stethoscope for unusual noise all is fine!
compression test just last yr, all within 10-15psi of each other.

and the hard shims can wear some and be looser than new setup

solid valve train will never be as quiet as hydraulic system.

and most motorheads like the sound(to each his own).
