Default Water pump 89 5.3

While the engines out one of the jobs will be the water pump. Just wondered if anyone can suggest the best way forward. Is it easy to refurb yourself or is an exchange unit available? New from David manners £345. Dont fancy that many thanks for your help.

A refurb kit is available, though cost ng more than an aftermarket one. Rockauto has them for a good price A lot lower than yours from DMG...

you can recon but you will need a press or bloody good vice, there is also a good chance you will break the impellor trying to remove it, you can get one via ebay for under 200 ukp that's probably where manners gets them from,

Prices seem to fluctuate on these a lot. I recall replacing mine for probably $120 about 6 years ago, seems to be chugging along just fine. Nothing special, just remove and replace. Worth replacing the timing plug while in that area.
