Got all the parts in now to do a proper overhaul of my ABS unit. Now just need to finish my ABS DIY tester, so I can diagnose brake issues easily...

Gave her a Turtle Wax polishing compound and then a Turtle Wax Paste job and put the car cover on, ready for the next drive. Not near as young as I used to be.

Boy do I love having an automotive eidetic memory! Touchscreen something and ypu remember how it looks, where it sat and what was attached to it. It also helps finding compatible parts.

I was looking for a plug for my ABS actuator test rig and knew I had seen it somewhere... And then the memory revealed a common: Volvo!

The plug connected between the ignition module and the engine loom is exactly this plug... Only on certain LH2.4 models thpugh. Found it, will be delivered tomorrow... Tester would then be a matter of minutes to assemble...

I found it at A2D-JAG97 Audio Streaming Adapter for 1986-97 Jaguar XJ and XK :: Bluetooth

Plus I polished chrome and conditioned the seats.

Next I need to find an upholsterer to replace the lining and padding on the original boot cover. The lining is breaking down and stained the headliner.

Do you think there would be a way put a switch to select the Bluetooth you described which eliminates the CD changer. In other words, why couldn't there be a way to retain the CD changer as well as have the new Bluetooth device. This way you can still listen to CDs and with a flip of a switch, introduce the Bluetooth device on the same input.

New KYB rear shocks. Yesterday and today took the fantastic beast out for a good run for the first time since installation. Great improvement over the worn out originals. The worst part was separating the original springs from the old shocks after 30+ years of them rusting together. I'm almost afraid to say the car is 'done' but everything is damn near perfect now as far as I can tell and everything works. Ta-dum!

Good to know those shocks worked out! Should come out to the sea to sky one day give the shocks a good workout.

Daim, I have never actually thought about it but your post made me think, I too have a memory for mechanical stuff, it appears strange at times. I have been rebuilding a motorcycle for 4yrs ... nearly finished and it is why I have purchased an XJS,new project. I took many pictures of pulling it a part and never looked at one. I just knew where the bits went, OK I had to look at the parts manual and away I went. A women (in our office) at work found a piece of steel,on the ground about 100mm long and said what is this.. it was a thin piece of spring steel, I looked at it and said its a binder spring. Don't know why but i had see them years ago. And guess what I was 100% right. She was shocked. Fact is like you I seem to have a photo graphic memory for mechanical stuff. Peoples faces nope, anything else nope. It is a strange thing.

Got the old girl winterized and ready for Canadian hibernation. Put more air in tires, disconnected battery, checked fluids, topped of gas and put some moth ***** in trunk and cab. There is a fuel stabilizer I use that really does work when I start it next spring. Earlier this spring I flushed the rad and system, it really did help..

In about 4 hours I will be placing an order for a new car as a sporty stabile mate for my XJ-S. Get the 500 off of my drive way. In with something emotional. Something will style. Something a 32 year old man would drive and not what an 18 year old female learner would
