Default What the hell is this noise? (Video Included)

So I get that noise at least 2 times a week when I start the car. The noise starts a second or two after I the engine is started. Usually when the noise starts immediately stopped the engine thinking if I leave it I something might be grinding. Then restart and everything is fine.

When I the noise started up the next two times after I started the engine, I just left the engine running and popped the hood so I was able to capture the noise on video. The noise stopped after 10 to 15 seconds in duration.

Increasing the RPMs does not have an effect on the noise. The source of the noise seems to come from the front of the engine or possibly in front of the radiator. It's hard to tell. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but every time the noise happens the A/C is on and the fan on the 3 setting.

Any ideas people?

Good heavens!

That's a new one on me.

Just for giggles unplug the electric air injection pump and see what happens.

Cheers

Sounds like bad AC pump, see if this is related to AC use.

According to the previous owner of the car the compressor was replaced. I'm going by his word though.

Unplug it before start-up. If the noise doesn't happen, then you've found you're problem

The nose does not happen every time I start the car, like 2 time a week it happens.

In that case, yeah, be ready to quickly unplug the pump as soon as you hear the noise. You might get a Check Engine Light as a result, but that can be cleared.

I have found the source of the noise, but this time the noise started while I was driving. The noise is coming from the auxiliary fan.
