Default Wheel upgrade advice

Hi there , I own an 1995 XJS convertible V12 and I wish to upgrade my wheels and tires bigger and wider , any suggestions will really be appreciated.
I want a sportier look and keep the classical style as well, not easy
Thank you

I only got wider on the standard 16 "7J rims. Tire size is 245/55/16

That is a beautiful car you have.

Personally I am not a fan of the bigger wheels (and the associated lower profile tires) on these cars. The lines and balance just do not look as good to me. Not to mention the harsher harder ride.
Jaguar made some good looking lattice style wheels in the late 80's early 90's that might be something you could consider.

Be aware that the suspension of these cars really don't like bigger wheels, or wider tires. It makes the car very twitchy and prone to tramlining. From the various things I have heard, 17" is the absolute maximum size you should consider, and even then the steering won't be as good as 16" wheels.

I don't know the physics of why this is so, but many people have reported the phenomenon.

They fit, but you'll likely need a spacer on the front to clear the hub. I have a set on my car.

That's why I chose the same rim diameter and tire height, just a bit wider. Drives great.

What size and type spacer?
Got a photo with them wheels on the car?
I'd love to see a snap or two.
It would hurt my wallet, but I think I would like em.

The spacer is about 3/8" aluminum, only needed at the front. Unfortunately, the car is in the air right now and will be for awhile, and no previous pictures.

You will also a significant vacuum coming from your wallet every time you press the fun pedal.
Big fat tires don't mean anything unless you are breaking traction.
And low profile tires will make the car loose that smooth suspension.
