Default Who has a Jaguar Tool Kit?

It appears that at one time you could buy a Jaguar Tool Kit from the dealer.

Does anyone have one of these kits? I'd love to see a picture.

Has anyone ever seen one for sale?

Mark

If it came standard in all of the cars was there a storage place for it or was it just on the floor of the trunk/boot?

Mine came with one but it is in a soft case... Just checked, it does not have all the wrenches.

That was normally in the XJ6 series III and fit by a strap on the side wall of the boot. I have one in my XJS that I got off E-bay...they are there from time to time but check under XJ6 tool kit not XJS as they didn't come on them AFAIK in the U.S market.

Nearly every XJS owner in the UK has one of these hard case kits. They go for only about £35 on ebay and up to about £65 for the late facelift XJS kits.

If you want one, buy it from the UK, it seems like it will be much cheaper!

They just sat in the boot/trunk anywhere you put them. On later cars they were fixed in a cradle in the left side well above the CD changer.

my '89 has the kit with the sunroof crank , as i have a factory glass tilt and slide sunroof.....

the hard case kit is stored in the boot ( trunk ) in the gap between the rear wing and the exhaust tunnel , on the opposite side to the aerial motor , it kind of wedges in there

That's where mine lived until l bought the CD changer and toolbox bracket from jag. heritage. Had to source some rattan carpet for the cover but now looks super.

FWIW - in regard to US cars, I was told that Jaguar stopped supplying them for <some> years during the XJS hey-day as they feared a full tool kit would be perceived as the car needing excessive maintenance (true story - but who knows if it's in fact true).

Joke was on them - HA!

Or, maybe it was that Biff and Buffy couldn't use a screwdriver anyhow, so why bother.. ;-)
