Default XJR-6 into XJS

Is anyone aware of anyone ever transplanting an X300 XJR6 engine into a 6 cylinder XJS?
I know there would be some computer/electrics issues, but I assume it would be possible.

This has come up before.

One of the fellows on Jag-Lovers is, I think, in the midst of such as project.

I think there is one other such car out there somewhere...perhaps in the UK.

The electrics are tricky but, as I understand it, just getting the engine to fit is quite a challenge, thanks to the extra bulk/width of the supercharger and associated plumbing.

Cheers
DD

while you're at it, you might want to investigate a stand alone management for the supercharged 6

Or buy a Aston Martin DB7 which has that exact engine in it from the factory.

I second that. Prices for the DB7 are ridiculously low and a manual transmission is available. Probably would spend less to do that than to do an XJR engine swap.

From memory the DB7 was a 3.2 supercharged.
I was thinking of the 4 litre XJR6 engine, but you all make a good point.
I remember the talk when the Aston was released that it 'had a Jag engine', which is almost as annoying as those people that say Jags were 'just a Ford'...

Anyway, if the DB7 was based on the AJ16, how much of the engine differed from a Jaguar engine?

Plums, that was the first thing I thought of! Ha. I still think it would be a great project to see a XJR6 mill in the XJS hull. Keeping it all Jaguar!
