Hi - I have a new classic and the radio doesn’t work. I have the code and have tried several times to put it n but no go. Any ideas

The only thing that comes to mind is that you have to enter the code as quickly as you can. Mine won't accept the code unless I enter it fast. If the code is entered wrong enough times I believe it will stop accepting codes for some period of time. Being an '89 you have the AJ8700 radio model. Do you have the instruction manual for it? If not I can post the pertinent pages from it.

 

Disconnect the battery then reconnect, and enter it slooowwwwly. Sometimes my car takes a few tries with the battery.
