XKs Unlimited has nice 17 x 7.5" wheels for our Jags
Sorry if this is a repeat, if it isn't you might like this:
half-way down the page:
XKs Unlimited - New and Hot Parts - Late Model Jaguars
They recommend 235/50-17 tires to keep stock diameter, and you can get Pirelli P7s that size for $152 ea.
And by "nice" I mean you don't have to experiment with spacers or rolled wheelarch lips, in addition to the large range of tires in that size.

i do like those, but i will keep my wires.
If i needed a winter set or autocross set I'd probably go for something like those. I don't dig most of the 90s XK and XJ6 wheels put on the XJS, they are too 90s for the XJS

the price somewhat offset by not having to deal with spaces are crap like he said, but still.
Regarding the "expensive" comment, it's all relative I suppose. For instance, I wouldn't consider the $1k price tag unreasonable for wheels on my XK (I actually just recently paid close to that for a new set.)
However, for an XJS, it's a harder pill to swallow. I just picked up a set of OEM Starfish alloys for $350, shipped (to replace my wires.. not a fan, personally). Granted, they need a little cosmetic work, but still a much cheaper alternative. And, yes, tires are a little hard to find but not terribly so if you settle for a slightly lower (but still safe) speed rating.

Gents I tried to order today some things from these people, XKs. They purport to be in California, but you cannot order anything on their site, it goes into the stratsosphere. When you call, there is no one there, just an answering service that puts you on permanent hold.
Anyone had any experience with them?

Hmmmm. Not sure what it all means.
They've been around for umpteen years. I've used them from time-to-time with mostly good results
Cheers

01Silverstone, I like your approach of using original wheels and I really don't know if I would ever spend $1K+ on these. But I am looking into the cost of altering the handling of my S3 XJ6 to suit my driving style, and wheels would have to be part of that. That's actually how I came upon these.

Maybe this thread is a red herring. XKs Unlimited is still in business at xks.com
I must have dug up an abandoned website listing those wheels.
I just sent them an email asking if the wheel is available.
Very odd indeed. I've ordered from them recently with no issues, and prompt shipping. I still get their regular emails advertising sales and such. The phone numbers I have for them are North America 800-444-5247 and Worldwide 805-544-7864. The Web site I have is www.xks.com
They also have an active presence on eBay under "xksunltd".

The wheels from XKs are resold from the Driven Man. Originally they were sold by Keisler, the manual coversion people which are all sold through the Driven Man now. You can also buy similar wheels from Coventry Wheels which are the Jaguar wheels made by TRW.
It might be they are out of these wheels as the Driven Man has stopped selling that exact style and is now selling the Coventry Wheels.

Alrighty well I sent an email enquiry about the wheels through the xks.com site on Wednesday and got a personalized reply from an xks.com email address on Thursday saying they'd check availabilty and get back to me. Nothing further yet.

I literally JUST got off the phone with Pete at XKs. All is good. The link is to their old website and the shopping cart doesn't work from there. They have to keep it open for certain catalog links. Use xks.com or call. It's a drop shipment from the vendor or manufacturer.
I just received an email from Mr. Marter at XKs Unlimited (xks.com). He assures me that the business is fine and busy. AND hd can get the wheels, now at $1200/set of 4 plus about $50 for correct lug nuts.
