Default Which year CD changers are compatible?

I'm cleaning up the last of my electrical issues this weekend and I found that the CD changer is simply dead. The green eject light works but pressing it results in nothing mechanical happening. I opened it up and freeded the magazine, there was a nice selection of the Stones and Moody Blues in it. The error on the radio is "02."

I think simply replacing it seems best, nothing seems serviceable internally. Which years can I use when searching? Mine is a 94.

For this era's available technology, a CD changer seems so impractical. Six CD's that will get old so soon. Why don't you arrange something to have the stock radio fit with a USB port. Then, you can have a huge music library with some 100 CD's or more for starters. Of course, you'd be even better off with an inexpensive new head unit with built-in ports for music sources or even blue-tooth to listen to music from your smart phone's music storage. I've done that on my XJS and my XJR.

But, if you must, well I still have not sold the original stock Alpine CD changer that came with my 2002 XJR. I'm not sure if it would talk to your car's radio, but you can probably find that out. Let me know.

Cheers,

Wow! I didn't realize that you have a 1994 XJS with an AJ16 engine? Is that an after marked mod, as I understood that in the US the XJS came with the AJ16 engine only in 1995/96 models. Was your '94 modified with an AJ16 engine?

Cheers,

I'm going for originality, I want the stock radio and the stock changer only.
