A diagram of inside our seats FAQ
I'm on a mission to fit aftermarket seats in my XKR.
I'm trying to get an idea of the problems I'll be faced with regarding error messages on the dash from missing airbags, and memory positions.
I've seen a few guys post pics of the chassis shells of our Jags being built, would any of you know of diagrams or pics of what's inside our seats?
I'm hoping to get an insite so I can get planning.

Hey Johnnnnnnny, dunno if it'll help much or not, but all I can think o is Rev Sams "how to" videos for the headrest repair.......I'm sure he pretty much takes the seats apart if I remember correctly?
May help some?

As you can see, everything links through the DSM.
The biggest challenge with replacement seats is likely to be the Hall Effect Sensors (item 16 for the Driver and item 14 for the passenger) which interface with the Supplementary Restraint System for the AirBags and anything affecting CAN interfaces to other vehicle systems.

Hi guys....... Just putting this out there..... I'm re-joining the Jag crew after selling my wife's S type r a year ago. Looking at getting an x150 soon. I'm a Contract engineer currently working for Lear Corp in the UK as a current product engineer......... Lear make most of the jag seats so feel free to ask any questions and hopefully I can help........ Certainly used this forum in the past for help and be glad to return the favour.

The other option is to strip the old seats down and keep the motors hidden somewhere also the airbags.
Maybe you could ask your team their best advice on this one. I'm super keen the get my after market seats fitted
