Default 2006 XK - Shift knob removal

How do I remove the shift knob on this vehicle? looks like there are set screw under the knob but no threads to back out?

Does it simply screw off counterclockwise?

You have to twist the chrome part anti-clockwise and undo the gear knob. It's stuck on with glue and is hard to shift off. Heat works.

Cateyes is in the wrong Forum. He's in the USA (Mississippi), so his 2006 XK is the steel-bodied X100 series. This is the X150 Forum, for aluminum-bodied models.

Confusion is understandable, since the X150 was introduced in the 2006 model year in the U.K. and in the 2007 model year in the U.S.A.

Hopefully, the Moderator will move this thread.
