Default 2007 XK drive shafts finish

Hi,
Is my 2007 Coupe (30K Miles)the only one with light rust finish on the rear drive shafts (&CV housings); may be it was tea time at the factory! Even my E type and our XK8 has the 1935 Morris Eight black finish. The XK appears to be just bare steel...........

No response from Forum! anyway, went to my friendly Dealer, in Tacoma, and looked under a brand new 2011 XK ; same situation, Standard British Rust! Service Rep says "will pass it on but don't expect any reaction!"

I have to agree.

Ideally they would be plated but even a coating of paint would have been better than nothing.

Even though it's just surface rust it is not what you want to see on a luxury car.
