Angry 2007 XK Spark plugs get spark, then stop. No start

Hi there,
If anyone has had a similar issue or can give any advise that would be greatly appreciated.

My 2007 XK will not turn over. the spark plugs get spark for 2 seconds, then nothing. I have changed the battery, checked the fuel pump, cleaned the plugs and coils, changed the break switch, checked electrical connections......I am completely out of ideas. I have run diagnostics and tried everything i can think of. has any one disabled the security system?

any help would be greatly appreciated before i burn the car!!!!!!

Welcome to the forums mamones07xk,

I've copied the question from your Intro for advice from members with the same model.

When you say "will not turn over" do you mean that operating the starter motor does not spin the engine? Or do you mean that the engine spins over but does not fire?

How did you ascertain that the spark plugs actually spark for only 2 seconds and does that apply to all 8 spark plugs?

How did you check the fuel pump? My suspicion would be that if the ECU is shutting down the entire ignition system after 2 seconds it is because the fuel sensor is telling it that there is insufficient fuel pressure. How good is your ODB diagnostic system? A good one would be showing a low fuel pressure DTC but a cheap one might be misreading it.

I took off the inlet hose from the fuel pump to the fuel rail, went to start the car and fuel was going to it.

are any of you familiar with the topdon or autel scanners? I'm interested to hear of any other experience on a jaguar with these scanners.

I have both scanners and already used the topdon and am about to try out the autel. I think it has to do with the brake, switch already changed. I want to try refreshing the ABS and possibly the ECU thank you for that. Ill let you know.

thanks
