2007 XKR Over Revving

2007 XKR Over Revving
Hi All,
I have a 2007 XKR with just under 40K miles on the clock. The car has gone into an over revving mode at low speeds twice within a few days. Once I have pulled over move the gearbox selector to park and then back to drive the over revving clears.
Any ideas what might cause this?
