2008 Jaguar XKR - Main screen not booting up when I turn car on
Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue with the main screen in my car. When I start the car, the screen only displays the Jaguar logo, and neither the heater, audio controls, or reverse sensor are accessible.
Turning off the car and turning it back on doesn't resolve the issue. This problem happens 1/10 times I start my Jaguar. When the system does boot up, everything works perfectly.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I don't have experience with this particular issue but I'm sure that others will ask how old the battery is and whether you have properly tested it to determine whether it is performing well enough.

How old is the battery - when nearing end of life you can get all sorts of weird effects - my 7-8 year old battery caused power steering issues on start up when on it's last legs - new battery cured that.
@evasive
Becoming a more and more common issue here and several threads about it. In this order, start with battery condition - weak voltage can cause glitches like this; then check for MOST problems - a failing MOST module like Bluetooth, nav, SAT radio etc can cause boot problems; then consider the screen’s failing - happened to me and others as these age components fail.

The battery is 10+ years old probably
Easy thing to do is get a new battery, fully charge it and see if it clears the issue - couple hundred bucks.

It’s most likely the Battery then. They’re not meant to last that long. See my post # 4 for troubleshooting steps.

That is excellent service for a Jaguar. I would change it as a first step. Make sure the new battery is fully charged before you install it.
