Default Audio Screen Issues

I’m having some issues with my infotainment screen. The screen stays dark although everything works just can’t get it to turn on. I have a ‘12 XKRS
Any ideas?

thanks

Check the car battery!
98% of the time it is Low Battery Voltage which causes electrical associated problems.
Your battery should have at least 12.6 volts AFTER it has sat unmolested overnight.
Try charging the snot out of it with an actual battery CHARGER and not a Maintainer or trickle for at least 12 hours if not overnight.
You could also have an auto shop or store do a quick Battery Check and Load Check for you for free.

I put in a new battery and changed the fuses but no luck my touch screen still won’t work. I’m not sure whether to order a screen or the CD player…I’ve noticed some say it could be the CD player that is causing the problem. Note: my radio works, my hazards work but my screen won’t illuminate. I can see the imprint of the screen display and the on off switch works but the screen remains dark.

had a situation like this once…. it was a loose ground point in the passenger footwell. Located slightly forward of the passenger door lower hinge.

Hi All,

These screens seem to be failing on a regular basis. Jaguar charge (if they have stock) over £1,000 to supply. Despite rumours, the unit is the same as fitted to the XF (very slight difference to metal frame around LCD screen, which isn't a problem). Just make sure that if you try an XF one, secondhand, it is of the same age. I bought one on Ebay for £20 and it worked perfectly. Good luck

Thanks, I got the screen from 2012 XF but the metal housing is different and I can’t use it. Do I just take off the screen only and replace in my existing unit? Is that what you did?

assuming you tested the new unit and it works, yes swap the mounting brackets. Check every function.
