Default 2008 XKR with XKR-S Front End...for Sale

Here's something I found that is really different.

2008 Jag XKR modified with a XKR-S Body Kit installed on the front.

What do you think of this mod?

This car has been on ebay before. There is a bit of a subtle difference around the side intake scoops (I actually like them better on the ebay car as they appear a bit wider around the opening and the bottom lip seems to be a little different) but I think it is very well done.

Buyer beware - salvage title = major damage. At least the seller didn't hide it. With the apparent front end damage, I wonder if the adaptive cruise works. I think it's overpriced for a salvage title car. Just my

Yes, it's been on eBay before.

I was interested in the members thoughts about the body mods.....front and side body from the XKR-S model.

I am NOT endorsing any purchase. I think the modification looks pretty nice.

I am always looking at premium autos and found this listed.

I agree with liquid-chris - I prefer the original front end design. The catfish face is just not my taste. But to each his own.

There's just something 'odd' about the whole look - as hawaii says, it appears unfinished. And, like Stuart, I'm not a fan of the catfish / Fu Manchu front end anyway.

Doesn't do it for me either. The car just does not look correct.

I like the front only but I think the problem is the center is not blacked out and therefore not enough contrast. All one color makes it look busy with that much detail.

I would do it to my car, anyone know how they did it? Is it an aftermarket bumper or did they modify an xkrs one? I thought there were enough differences that it was not a simple swap out.

Really, one shouldn't look to what tuners have done to their 1992 GTRs for tips on how to treat an XKR. The skirts on that car are truly vomit inducing. The front end looks OK from straight on, but the side is much less flattering.

Quite hideous.

Really, not a very good job for installation. Look at the uneven gaps by the driver side headlight, at the center of the hood and the wide gap by the pass. headlight. Very unprofessional, something I would expect to be done by a teenage owner of a 10 years old Honda Civic but not on a Jaguar.

Not sure where the front kit came from, factory or an aftermarket knockoff? Probably the later, as I would expect a factory part to fit much better.

Salvage title could explain poor panel fit. Apparently significant front end damage since only front is modded.

I must be a copy because the detail where the spoiler meets the wing is totally different as is the air scoop.

The car side profile looks odd because the spoiler slopes towards the ground rather than being parallel to it.

If you look at the gaps, the hood is straight and is the reference in the picture. It is the front bumper piece that is warped in several places. Most likely it is because it's a knockoff and they took the mold with the plastic bumper being off a car, unmounted and slightly bent due to positioning, temperatures, etc.

Very common with aftermarket front bumpers. When I installed one for my RX-7 it fit with similarly bad flange gaps. I had to cut off all mating surfaces and rebuild them in fiberglass so that I could get a nice, factory-looking fit.
