Default 2009 XKR Do we have a immobilizer that kicks in ???

Hi guys my 09 xkr which has a brand new battery as on Nov 2025. It's my daily so it doesnt sit. Anyhow car runs great but about 2 weeks ago I parked at a grocery store for 15min.. came out and open the door to put the groceries in the car before closing the door locking it and went across the street to grab dog food. Came back and I went up to the trunk and tried to open it.. wouldn't open. went to the drivers door and attempted to open and nothing. took the fob out and tried the buttons. nothing. then I tried to open the door via the handle once more and the door opened but the mirrors stayed turned up. the passenger side stayed lock and when I sat down and shut the door the window didnt re seal. So I tried to start the car and nothing no turn over no lights .. security light on dash was still blinking. I put the key on the centre console . it came up on the dash smart key. but then spat it out and disaperered I sat there not knowing if I triggered a imbolizer somehow. so I sat for 5min and tried again and the car started. worked for 2 weeks like normal but then yesterday morning drove to the store and got out .. went to get back in and same thing. car wont start but its not like a dead battery its like no turn over no noises. security light still blinking. waited 5min and boom car started. Can anyone explain what's happening perhaps ?

I’d stop shopping at that store. It’s haunted.

As with any weird electronic problem, CHECK THE BATTERY. It HAS to be at 12.6 volts or higher after sitting for hours unmolested.

Had the SAME issue...EXACTLY!!!

replace key fob battery...

only unlock the car when you are NEXT to the door..

no long distance opening.. mine happened as I was 20 yards away opening the windows during a warm Florida day...

had this happen twice,,,

since then,,

no issues..

been 4 months...

hate gremlins ..but I am learning how to master this beautiful beast,,,

Key dock in centre console accepts a fob without a battery.
it will not accept a fob if the electrical source to the car is insufficient.

Check your car battery or connections.

Cheers

Then we need codes and confirmation of the charge on the battery.
