Default 2009 XKR Navigation Question

I have a 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition with an EAST COAST Navigation setup since the car came from Florida. I have found the DVD for the 2009-2010 XK Supercharged WEST EDITION since I live in New Mexico.

I am wondering if this disc is inserted into the CD player in the dash or from what I read into a Navigation Reader located somewhere in the trunk compartment. The car did not come with the NAV BOOKLET.

I am new to Jaguar and recently the purchased the 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition so I am on the learning curve which I find is quite steep.

Any input is greatly appreciated on installing this WEST COAST navigation map dvd into my system.

I have posted here a few times, and the feedback and assistance has been VERY Helpful.

Good question and without a manual it would be hard to find. The Nav disc goes in the trunk. I don't know if you have a coupe or convertible but the disc goes in the same spot.
In a convertible, look under and ahead of the luggage separator in the trunk. It divides the area the top rests when down and the rest of the trunk. There is a plastic door in the vertical part of the carpeting at the front of the trunk. Remove the door and you will see the NAV module. Make sure the key is on and slide the unlock/lock button on the nav reader to unlock. Press the eject button on the module. Remove the disc and insert the other one. Then slide the lock button over.
In the coupe, just lift the hatch and look towards the right side of the front of the cargo area for the plastic door. Remove the door and then repeat as above.

I don't have pictures, unfortunately, but hopefully you will be able to see what I am writing about.

I found the Nav booklet online in pdf format......it really helps understand the system.

Here's the link if any one needs to reference it.

http://www.jaguar.com/content/market...n_Handbook.pdf

All handbooks and guides are available on-line in pdf format and easy to find.

See my other post for the links to all manuals for the 2009-XKR.....some of the manuals overlap other years.

Thanks for the help here and the photo.

This forum is awesome, with so many Jaguar owners willing to help.

Thanks for the info. I recently purchased a 2012 XK vert. Does this info also apply to this year?

Thanks again

The nav computer and its DVD drive seem to be in the same location, next to the battery, for all models.
