Default 2010 XK fog lights?

Hey guys, I was just wondering where the fog lights are on the new '10-11 XK model. Are they integrated into the headlamp? I'm interested in replaced the front bumper on my '07.

The original plan was to trade in and get a '10 but the depreciation... ouch.

The later XKs dont have any AFAIK, and I am pretty sure the lights are the same, I will not deny I have never bothered looking at a 2011 XK to see.

But I have done the conversion

Simply gorgeous. Is that a '11 factory bumper that just fits onto the old model? I checked out the '11 XKs earlier, it's true there are no front fog lamps whatsoever, just rear ones (I never understood those). I saw your LEDs and it gave me this idea: '11 front bumper with LED lights wired where the fog lights used to be. Is this what you did?

You may want to take a look at this thread too:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/2...s-36907/page3/
I took this thread to my local body shop and they managed to get me the '10 tail lights.

Oh, and I love the wheels. I'd ask what they were but if I got them I'd look faster than I really am. Never cared much for speed but looking at yours makes me ache for an R a little.

Rear fog lights in poor visibility situations will prevent you from being rear ended. Saved my butt a few times during heavy fog or rain in Florida

Take a look HERE

The front bumpers are a simple swap, you will nee a different undertray, the LEDs are a purpose built item, they were the first developement items fitted, they are wired up to the ignition so they come on as DRLs

Cars w/ Xenon headlamps don't need fog lights. They never appeared on the XF and were phased out on the S-type to get people used to the idea of not having them. The current XJ does not have them either.

Thanks a million. As of now I'm waiting on seeing the 2012 XKR's. A little too gorgeous to resist. I'm a sucker for those new head lamps.

When I went for a test drive the dealer told me the new fog lights are integrated into the headlamps.

I think the dealer gave you false information. In fact I am sure he did. Ian Callum stated in an interview that modern cars w/ Xenon headlamps don't need fog lights.

I wouldn't be too surprised honestly. Sigh, just shows how much dealers know about their own cars.

Hello XKRacer,

Sorry about bringing up an old thread, but I am interested in doing this mod on my own 2007 XKR. A few questions:
-What "different undertray" is required?
-What did you do with the old fog lights?
-How and where can I get the 2010 bumper and different undertray?

Thanks

Beacuse the bumper is a different shape at the front you will require a different undertray, all of which can be bought from Jaguar.
I managed to buy the front bumper I used from Ebay, plenty of fronts on there in the UK for about $250 + shipping
As to the fog lights, I simply disconnected them and taped up the plug, does not bring up any faults.

I couldn't find any on American ebay so I'll just order it from my dealer.

A funny idea popped into my head. Would it be possible to leave the fog lights in (since I had mine converted to HIDs and am a little attached) and then have them flood light through the side vents on the front bumper? A little crazy but hey, sounds like fun. Is there enough room to do that kind of thing?

And about the DRL wiring, I'm looking at installing a led strip on the outside of the headlights (kind of '12 XKR-S-esque) as DRL's, did you connect them to the side lamps or....?

Thanks again

No reason why you could not keep the fog lights, plenty of room with this setup, you will need to take a look with the standard air box to see if there would be enough room

You could wire the lights up to the side light circuit but of course then they are not DRLs unless you need to turn your lights on, you need to wire them upto the ignition circuit, that way as soon as you hit the button to put the ignition on the lights come on, you just need to find an ignition live, I will dig out the info on how I did it (if I can find it!)

Hi again. Just wanted to know if the 07 grills fit with the '10 bumper? Thanks.

I assume by this you mean the upper grille fits, but the lower grille does not?

I will not deny I am not 100% certain, I never swapped the lower grilles, looking at the pics I would say the 2011 is more angled at the ends and the ealier 2007 looks more verticle
