If a broken piece was ever made by anyone (or any company), you (or someone else) can always make a new one or repair the defective one. It may not be worth the cost-benefit, but things are just things.

I appreciate the help on this. I will have to disassemble the seat in order to see what is broken, loose or missing. Backing the seat back to the rear seat gets it set up at a good angle to carry a passenger, so I will move forward with other pressing issues until I have time to take it apart.
