Hi guys...
I scoured the internet and youtube looking for videos on headlight removal for a 2013 XK and did really find anything helpful.
Let me back things up first- I developed a coolant leak and had to have the water pump replaced. This is probably just a coincidence, but not my left headlight assembly is completely dead. None of the lights work. The fuse is good, I already checked that. It's almost like it's unplugged or has no power to the assembly but I can't find the plug to check that. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
First I would check the ground lugs behind the wheel and shock on the right hand side - just pull the wheel and see if the ground stud on the chassis member is corroded and or the individual lugs are still good. This is a common issue with the 2007-2009's.
Don't know if this is any help. My XKR 2012 had right-hand day running light out. We could find no wiring diagrams that fitted the car and eventually found a junction that had fused out with most of the terminal completely corroded - looks like water got in it.
That is unexpected and unfortunate. I have to attest that it has never happened to me and, I wonder how it could unless the connector was not fully connected or damaged and not replaced.
On the side where wires enter the connector, I have sealed many of the connectors with Starbrite Liquid Electrical Tape.
(Which is the reason that I am confident that no harm will come when I wash the engine bay)
