Default 2014 XKR mods?

So, for those of you following the Sad Day thread, I am back, having replacing my totaled 2010 XKR (negotiated a decent total loss payment out of State Farm) with a 2014 version. Looks very similar, though it has different wheels and the spoiler seems a bit more pronounced? Thanks to all for the advice on that process.

In any event, because I have the disease, I'd appreciate input anybody has on lowering springs and engine tunes. My last car had Eibachs, which were fine (although they seemed to settle more than I expected) but Eibach apparently has stopped making them. H&R makes them, though. 1.3 inch drop. Any experience out there with these? This car will never see the track. I've got other options there. It's a cruising/date night/GT touring kind of application in this household...

Separately, my last engine tune and pulley was through ECU Tuning Group, and I was quite pleased with the results (although not necessarily the price so much). Has anybody come across a tune/pulley they recommend other than the ETG set-up?

Spires offers 20mm Eibach springs or for height and adjustable dampening, BC Racing offers reasonable coil overs.

for a tune I’d reach out to Cambo as he has what I think is the best tunes out there for these and other JLR products.

Thanks for the tip on the Spires springs. The H&R drop seemed too aggressive to me. The Spires look safer. Now, for the tune, I'm sorry to sound ignorant, but who is Champ?

The Spires springs are excellent! I believe they were custom made by Eibach for Spires. The rears are progressive rate for comfort. They lowered the car I think between 15 - 20mm. Completely changed the stance and performance of my cat. One of the best investments i have made to my 2007 XK.

The only thing I felt shortsighted was the size of rear tires/wheels (which they did correct in the xkrs/gt)

Wider tires help show off the curves of the car. Like on Aston and 911.

305 size is the ideal on multiple levels. You can widen the wheels or buy wider wheels.

🤔 I didn’t know widening wheels was an option...or perhaps I would not have bought wider ones...I did go for 305s in the rear and it does make a positive difference.

Let me know if you are interested in widening the old ones. Its made easy for us on this car because there is so much room.
