Default 5.0 Drive Selector lock-out when hot stuck in park

Anyone encounter this?

When its 95F hot car parked sunny day, selector hot to the touch
I start the engine and press the brake to shift out of park
And the lockout won't release to allow me to turn the drive
selector. After repeatedly playing with it and pushing the brake
eventually it is able to shift into reverse/drive.

This is the second time this happend, after I arrive at home
No issues, shifts perfectly out of park.

Is the solenoid which activates the selector getting weak,
or is this purely a heat soak ssue?

Interesting issue. I don't know the answer.

But what I wonder - and I don't know if they are correlated - but you mention starting the car and then pressing in the brake pedal. My car will only start with the brake pedal pushed first. And, gear selection occurs then too (when brake pedal is depressed.)

Correct, brake gets pushed before starting engine, I start the car and let the AC cool me down a second and revs drop,

This is not a brake switch issue.

Huh. I leave my top down in the sun sometimes and the ambient temps are right around 100f. Direct sun even, and I've never had this problem.
Maybe I'll do that less often if this may happen to mine. I'd not like that. I shall ponder possible causes...

You can hear the actuator when in park and step on brake
I suspect its getting sticky in the heat
