Default AC issue - vibration/noise

Hi All,

When I started my car this morning I heard a loud pop from the passenger side dash. Now when I increase my fan speed I feel a vibration and hear a noise from the passenger side dash. This happens whether the AC or Heater is on but both seem to be functioning properly. Any ideas?

Thanks

Khan

Easy to remove the fan/motor - mine was squeaking - it was particles of carbon from the brushes. Took it apart, cleaned out the carbon and oiled the bearings - been good for the past 2-3 years.

Check to see if you sucked something into the fan squirrel cage that threw it out of balance.

The fan has a fabric cover over it (under the dash passenger side - be careful, the attachments are easily torn) - three screws to remove the fan and plug to remove. You have to be on your back with your head under the dash

I didn't remove the passenger side footwell trim panel.when I did it. - Correction you do need to remove this - I thought it was talking about another item.

Remove the fan - you may not have to replace it.
