Airbag Light On After Replacing the Battery - RESOLVED
Hi, I've disconnected the battery and done a reset, but no luck getting the airbag light off. Anything else that I can try? If not, would a regular non-Jag specific shop be able to turn the light off via an OBD2 scan-tool? Thanks for any help.

Any codes ? help us to help you
Without codes, not much help is available. Check fuse 17 in the auxiliary junction box (between the back seats). It's a 10 amp mini fuse. Beyond that, you don't want anyone to turn off the light. It means your safety restraint system is malfunctioning. Buy a code reader like Foxwell or iCarsoft for Jaguar. It can read codes for the SRS system, and clear them though it will just come back on again until you fix the problem. It will cost you less to do that than a shop visit. Share the codes here and we can help.
Hi there,
in my opinion, if the lamp is on and you don't read any code(s), it seems likely you can't read it (with that your reader).
Try to check if someone of us near you has a mongoose cable with JLR software (I'm in Italy)

Has the code reader that you bought got a reset of any kind. On other cars like BMW you need a code reset for Air Bag Alarms. I used just a generic code reader. Like the Torque Pro app. Assuming you don’t have any real alarms of course.
Torque Pro all is always handy to have with a Blue Tooth OBII reader for other info . And is very cheap as well

Basic Foxwell means.....? Is it Jaguar specific? Can it read all modules?
Very strange you have airbag light on but no codes!?
Your thread title is Airbag Light On After Replacing the Battery and the text then describes performing a hard reset. Did you simply replace the battery as preventative maintenance or was it a battery fail and replace scenario with possible jump starting involved?
The airbag warning lamp is controlled by the IP (Instrument Pack). The amber warning lamp illuminates as part of the full indicator lamp check when the ignition is switched on. The lamp remains illuminated until the IP receives a turn off signal on the high speed CAN bus from the RCM (Restraints Control Module). A hard reset only clears learned adaptions; it doesn't clear an RCM fault.
There's a long list of airbag fault codes in the Workshop Manual. A "standard" reader will only read five digit codes but airbag faults set extended seven digit codes in the format Bxxxx-yy which requires Jaguar SDD.

went to a local shop with a proper scanner and code was found, cleared, and hasn't come back, so it was simply a battery issue as thought. i'm glad, as i've got the car sold. tnx for all of your input, gents.
