Where is the amplifier located in the 2009 Jaguar XK ?
is it really under the carpet on passenger front?

That would mean you need to wire the amp to the entertainment head unit. Forgive my ignorance then but what kind of wire would it be?

FYI, removing this thing is a real PITA.

Even just removing the cables is a PITA for re-use is a PITA if you think that might work to remove the cables by themselves so you can skip removing the amp. They are plugged in so tight I ended up cutting some cables instead of removing the plug AFTER I removed the damn amp.

There is very little room and the rug is way tougher than you think.

If your replacing the amp and speakers and infotainment system(no need for most bus system then), I strongly suggest just drilling new holes and cable path through the door for your own wiring with new cable rubber grommet and cable cover(I'm sure there is a generic one out there). Put new tweeters into existing A-pillar and just disconnect the amp via fuse.

Trust me, you'll save time and sanity. No, do not bother reusing the existing speaker cable, just do get down to drilling. It sounds crazy, but trust me.
