Seeking knowledge-‘07 ‘vert, with window separating. I did a previous repair in another area, seems to be holding. My question is will the car remember the top position if I shut it off? I think I need to partially open the top to take the tension off the fabric to stretch it back over the window. Don’t want to mess things up by doing this. Thanks for your wisdom!

 

The best way to do this is to do a manual raise with the pump disconnected using the Manual Top Reset procedure in the user manual. Lowering it manually you have to crank the latches on the windscreen header, which is a pain.
Just follow ALL the steps! Super-easy. Then put it back down manually to where it started. Don't leave the doors open during the repair, your battery will fail.
