Anyone ever get the Emergency Key cut without the Original?
Yes, I've had a key cut from the code that any Jaguar dealer CAN give you once they verify ownership.
Problem was, the guy I chose threw a fit because his key cutter gummed up trying to cut into the ungodly hard alloy that Jaguar keys are made from.
I bought some brass stock and machined my own blanks, and those can be cut very easily.
Thing is, the second guy I had cut them didn't do it firmly enough because the nearly completed cut blank ejected from the cutter due to insufficient securing onto the machine by the locksmith.
It's close enough that it does work ONE direction on a bi-cut key, but not the other. I still have a couple blank brasses, but I don't know which side of the key is the working side.
