Backed out
Buyer Beware of aftermarket extended service contracts, particularly "bumper-to-bumper" coverage, because of the exclusions and limitations in the fine print that allow the Administrator to deny coverage. Do your homework and read the online user reviews of that plan. Don't be fooled - it might not be what you think. Don't trust the seller and don't rely on CarFax. Only you can do your due diligence.
Know what you are buying by paying a Jaguar dealer for a Pre-Purchase Inspection to Certified Pre-Owned standards.

Every X150 model available for sale today is a used car, with varying mileage, maintenance by previous owners, collision damage, and condition. That super-low mileage creampuff could have been driven by that little old lady from Pasadena only on Sundays a quarter mile at a time. Therefore, generalizations about reliability are meaningless, and is why I recommend a PPI from a Jaguar dealer so you know what repairs are on the horizon. For example, the brakes may be working fine, but the pads are low. And that trail of dried coolant means that the water pump is leaking even though the engine is running smoothly and the temperature warning light hasn't come on. And so on ...
There are many threads on this Forum about reliability. Learn to use the Advanced Search function. It's easy and intuitive.
And why would you rely on CarChex any more than you would rely on CarFax? Do you really believe all of those glowing user reviews are all true? Don't fall for it. Sure, they're useful to spot accidents and other things that are reported to them, but what about all the things that never get reported? Do you believe everything you read on the internet? Don't fly blind in the dark. Often, the cost of a PPO is recovered by negotiating a lower purchase price due to the flaws found by that inspection. The seller is not your friend; he is a trained hunter on the scent of your wallet. Protect yourself and do your due diligence, because once you've paid for it, it's hard to get your money back.
Find the right XK or XKR. You won't regret it.

Every one of my Jaguars has a perfect history report on every site I've checked. Every one of them has been in an accident resulting in panel/bumper work and a full body repaint. A dirty car history report might have value but a clean one is worthless.
I sincerely don't care that my cars have this history. It's why they have beautiful paint without orange peel much younger than their age and mileage, the repaint are very much a plus in my book. Every owner disclosed the history. Inspection by any decent shop would have revealed the repaints, which were very good, but still repaints. I saw very small indications when I had them on lifts but had been told before I inspected so it wasn't an unpleasant surprise.
These are very good cars. They are used and stuff will break. If you can't stomach an out of warranty repair and instead prefer the manageability of a factory warranty alongside depreciation, don't buy one and consider a new f type. They are robust and well made, but repairs if you don't do them yourself will be expensive. I feel much more comfortable with these cars than a Mercedes SL/CL, a BMW 6, or any Audi of the same era for reliability and total cost of ownership.

Its a standard drivetrain with electronic systems that have gremlins when the battery gets too old for it to run on. Thats the bottomline. No. These cars are not reliable at all, and can be a real hassle if you’re too worried about ruining your manicure when a CEL comes on or the TPMS acts up, or you get a low speed shudder. They look great on the driveway though. C’mon... look find a well priced one. If youre looking for a cheap X150 it will be expensive. So just settle on good price, color combo, PPI, and go from there. I would hate for you to buy one of those super reliable Brands, that is easy on the wallet, if and when it breaks. Reliability is relative. Buy a run of the mill commuter and the only reliable thing you will constantly notice, is the disappointment. Haha
This is the only bit of your excellent post I disagree with. I had a 2010 XKR for 5 years and apart from a wiring problem that surfaced shortly after I bought it used and was fixed under warranty, it only saw the garage for routine maintenance, and tyres, of course. I had the water pump changed, but nothing else apart from oil. I kept my ultra-reliable Nissan Almera "just in case" and it sits unused on my drive.
As they say, YMMV.

What is worse than that skewed picture is car pics in PORTRAIT orientation. Shows a lot of sky and road, and only 20% of the car. Video in Portrait makes me want to rip my face off and dunk my raw meat head in a barrel of brine.
It's like they had a confused house cat take all the photos. They love staring at crap at weird angles.
