Default battery low alert

2011 xkr 175. have had a battery low alert two times now. the battery was changed in October 2015. I don't drive it alot, but do have it on a good battery tender as recommended here. Any suggestions? It starts fine.

SmartKey fob battery low alert? If so, easy to change DIY.

Oh, would that show up on the screen? I thought it was indicative of car battery. Thanks

Just to clarify, you could be talking about one of two different alerts. One is the key fob battery low "SMART KEY BATTERY LOW" mentioned by Stuart and I think that appears on the little display under the speedo. The other message will appear on the touch screen and I think is just time related and is triggered by leaving the touch screen on for too long without the engine running.

I have a new battery that is less than 4 month's old, and I get the low battery warning about once a week but goes away as soon as you start the engine.

Your car is telling you that the battery is not at full voltage, and/or that it would love a very long fast drive in the country.

I drive between 50 and 100 miles per day so there's ample time to charge.

Well if it is the key fob you are talking about this is how you change it.
