Default BG44K?

Has anyone used it?
I was getting an injector replaced, and a dude who was there with a Land Rover swore by the stuff. I've never been a fan of dump-in-the-tank additives but apparently Land Rover recommends it?

Yes, it is one of the few 'snake oils' that really works. but if you fill up consistently with modern premium gas it is probably not really needed as maintenance.

Thanks- pretty much what I thought.
My engine's only got 21K miles on it, which seems early for an injector issue, so I'm worried I maybe got a tank of dirty gas. It's a "what the hell, why not" situation for me.

I use top tier gas as much as possible and throw in a bottle of Techron every 5k miles or so.

If an an injector still plugs up despite using decent quality gas, there's a more basic problem.

+1. Techron costs much less than BG44K, especially when it's on sale at Costco.

BG44 fuel cleaning is offered in several formats. Stand alone as a fuel additive, it is still a good product, but there are several on the market that can match it.
Where BG44K excels in the the complete fuel cleaning system. You will have to go the their web site to find a BG44K certified service center in your area, (turns out my local Ford dealership is the only one in my county).

The Complete Fuel Cleaning System is extremely advantages to late model cars with direct cylinder injection, where the air/fuel mixture no longer passes by the intake valves (as in multi port injection of earlier generations) to prevent buildup of carbon deposits. Without this air/fuel wash, your intake valves begin to carbon up almost at the same rate as the exhaust valves.
The CFCS puts a spray nozzle in the intake runner and clears the carbon off the intake side of the house.
For about $200, I regained zero HP, but got back 30ft/lbs of torque on an engine with about 30K miles on it.

For those of us with Direct Cylinder Injection, I recommend this should be done every two years minimum, or annually if your **** like myself.

Most manufacturers with DCI engines now offer similar "in house" procedures with their own brand (or re-branded) product.
