Default Blower Motor Brand Recommendations

Hi Everyone. The blower motor in my 2007 XK has developed a squeak and is rusty. A quick search shows the OEM motor is no longer available. Is there a recommended aftermarket replacement? I see replacement motors from brands, API, GPD, 4 Seasons, UAC, VDO, and ACM, but am not familiar with any of those brands. Is there a consensus for the best replacement brand?

It’s the same blower motor as the F Type. I fitted a used one off a F type from EBay and got the adapter power harness from Jag
There are plenty of used ones for the F type on EBay and in good nick as the F Type doesn’t have the duckbill issue
The harness was around a £1.
The PN is on a previous post on here.

Partially... there was a wiring change between the current available fan and the original included with your '07.
The solution from Jag includes the adapter.

If it is rusty the chances are the a/c drain (duckbill) is blocked and backing up and dripping through the motor. A common problem but a pig to fix, I know from experience! I believe the early f-type motor is the same. It looks identical.

Mine developed a squeak which was caused by carbon dust/bits from the brushes collecting in the bottom - cleaned it out (after dismantling) and it has been fine ever since.

been there, done that... three times. I'm hopeful the new motor can wait for the attention another 10 years.

The duckbill problem caused this twice in my 2008 XK 'vert. I replaced it with whatever brand they sell at Auto Zone with no issues. Note that the problem often ruins the motor controller as well. I got the controller at Auto Zone as well. It is located right next to the motor, so the installation was a simple procedure. It was still working well after about 5or 6 years when I sold the car.
