Default Bluetooth/Phone Question

Paired an iphone 5 as well as successfully synched/downloaded all contacts. However on an incoming call from a stored contact name doesn't appear just the number. Name appears on phone yet not on XK screen.

Solution??? Thanks in advance!!

Do you store you number with a "1" prefix on your phone? I do not, but the calls come in with a "1", so I assume they are not being resolved since they are different strings.

My iphone appears to store them with a 1 prefix. Caller name shows on iphone but not on the jaguar. Find it odd.

It seems that the XK can store *only* 500 address/telephone number entries. If you have more than 500 on your iPhone (pretty common if you also synch your office Exchange address book) then any incoming call coming from the rest will not show up as a resolved number, I think.

That's exactly what it is - I have the same issue and had called the dealership about it.
I am always shocked when I come across another shortcoming on the electronics in my Jag. 500 numbers, really? Of the 7 clicks to pick a playlist while I wait for the slow screen to swipe left and right.

Is that really it? I seriously doubt I have 500 numbers on my iPhone and I do not see names being resolved on the NAV screen. I can scroll the address book just fine, but I too do not see the calls being resolved to their name.

I don't have 500 names as well. Evidently not that popular. Dealer feels its my iphone 5 that's the issue.

I am going to edit a phone number on my iPhone and have the number call me to verify whether the name resolves for me.b

Thank you for sharing this!!!

I had some of my contacts in the UK saved as +44 instead of just “0” and this was causing the no display issue.

Your advice helped.

The international prefix in the phone book has always been a problem, also in the earlier cars like the X-Type, X350 XJ and so on. I have the same problem with the Bluetooth phone in the XJR, the number displays but not the contact name.

Unfortunately for me I travel overseas a couple of times a month and have many overseas contacts in my phone I need to call regularly, so I have to leave it in.
