Hi all, just after a bit of advice , my mother in law's xkr is in for a repair after being involved in an accident , they are taking an age to repair it saying body parts are not available, I'm going to make some phone calls to the jaguar garage in the group I work for bit just wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this, many thanks in advance , Chris

 

It wouldn't surprise me if a part's NLA. Which parts are you after? There's multiple ways to source them. Also make certain the shop you're using's either JLR certified or Aluminium certified. Not many are.

Alas I have nothing but sympathy to add to your specific predicament.

But from the point of view of communications clarity, may I point out that forum members are globally dispersed with a significant number of us in the US, and terminology varies. I gather from your posts that you are looking for the "near side" door and wing(?) which translates to me as right side of the car. Is that correct?

And, what is a "wing"? Outside door mirror? EDIT- I googled it. I think you’re referring to what we’d call a front fender.

 

The wings were changed with the 2012 facelift. Jag made me one about 5 years ago and it took a while. As for the door, they’ve been the same through 2015, I think so that one surprises me. If you’ve no luck with Jag in the UK you could try SNG Barratt, Steve at Cotswold Jag parts also in the UK or perhaps some salvage breakers, surely there’s plenty of those?

Your location is listed as GB in your profile, which means you are looking for a left hand / passenger side wing, correct? If so, a couple in the UK on eBay :

There are also a couple of doors on there but they appear to be for a convertible. Might be worth contacting a few sellers from the listings though.
