Brake Lamp failure light infrequently
Good Morning XK folks,
My brake lamp failure light comes on randomly. Not sure but it seems only when the weather is a bit cooler. All lights work and when I turn off the engine and then restart it goes out. Sometimes does not come on at all. Any thoughts from the fantastic brain trust would be greatly appreciated. 2007 model NA 4.2.

Thanks for the quick reply, all the bulbs are working at the moment. Maybe a tiny bit of corrosion on one of them is the reason it seems to be random. I might just think about replacing the two outboard bulbs and also switch to LED bulbs if these are still the original type.

LED bulbs with ballast, or you'll get permanent MILs.
In my experience, if bulbs are replaced with good generic bulbs, the Jaguar bulb check system will sometimes think they are not working. The only cure in my experience is to dig deep in your pocket and replace with genuine Jaguar bulbs from a dealer or SNG Barratt. I have written this up fully on here a year or so ago, but God knows where it is now..
