Default Brake pads?

Just got my XKR....pretty cool....i feel like the brakes are a bit light for the weight of the car. and i feel like the touch to the peddle just requires a bit too much umphhh compared to the ease of shifting and acceleration. I would like a really quick and light response. I use EBC pads on my mustangs....as i also race them....the mustang brakes suck of course...but they are a whole lot better with these pads...anyone tried them on their JAG?

My car is an XJS V12. I thought that it was a bit underbraked for consecutive high speed stops, so changed front discs to EBS vented, slotted and dimpled and red stuff pads. Absolutely transformed the braking. No fade and very easy to modulate the braking. No problems when cold in traffic either. A touch more pedal effort, maybe, but green stuff which was slightly less effort, wore very quickly on the slots.

Never tracked the Jag, but have other cars....
I've used both EBC Redstuff, and then went to Hawk HPS. The Hawks did slightly better at the track than the EBC pads but still faded half way through my sessions. Was going to up my pads and try the HP Plus next (or maybe even the blues). Hawks use the NRS backing plates unlike EBC so de-lamination at the track should never happen.

If dust is a non-issue, do not hesitate to go look at the Porterfield R4 compounds...
Leaves your rims dark pretty darn quick, but talk about an amazing pad that lets you drive your limits with pure braking confidence...wow is the only word applicable to the experience.

johney5, a lot of members have used the EBC pads. I can't say that I have heard a negative thing about them. Put them on your car and I don't think you will be upset.
