As best as I can tell everything in the cabin is shut off. As I sit there marveling at the splendor of my new purchase, I hear a buzzing from the center counsel. Is this normal?
Yes, the buzzing is actually a small DC motor and impeller behind that little black plastic grill below the instrument cluster to the right (in my LHD) of the steering column. It draws cabin air over a sensor for the climate control. It will turn off in a few minutes.
Got me puzzled when I bought mine too.
I also think it will be the In-Car Aspirator you can hear.
Jaguar nomenclature can be strange. The grille for the In-Car Aspirator is arrowed in YELLOW. It is beneath the IP (Instrument Pack) arrowed in BLUE. The Centre Console is arrowed in RED:
And that's before we even talk about my steering wheel being on the opposite side.
Thanks. It is still quiet but I noticed it with the engine off and just sitting in the car. If the engine was running or the radio on, it would never have been heard.
I was amazed to find that is a real company ......... until I saw it's Australian.
