Default CD player

Finally got round to loading CD's into the magazine hoping for some of my choice music only to see:
checking disc... No disc loaded....
same message for all six discs, yes they are the right way up! Just to be sure I put one in upside-down, same message. The player hasn't been used for some time.

Did you load cds or dvds? Single or Double sided? Also, not all modern digital music formats are supported.
Some claim that home burnt cds don’t work but I have never had a problem with iTunes.

Could be a dirty lens, try using a cleaning disk:

Ron,

You're in the wrong Forum. Your Public Profile shows that you have a 2002 XK8, which is an X100. This is the X150 Forum, for 2006-2014 aluminum XK/XKR models.

Nevertheless, this old thread should be helpful.

Good Luck!

Stuart

P.S. And see the .pdf in Post #11 of this old thread for details on how to disassemble and align the gears:

curlycat,
I've had this issue on my X100 XKR as well. Go to the trunk, pop out the cassette, put it back in making sure that it's pushed in hard and try it again. It should work after trying this a couple of times.

That's what the button in the bottom right corner is for.

I'm glad you got it fixed!
