Default a/c

will try and get info off the mechanic, if i could get to pipe and if the duck bill is on the end is it a matter of just cutting the duck bill off the end, i suppose it dosn't matter if is open all the time, if all fails and it returns, will the tube/fix that you show do the same job and stop the problem, looks an easy job to do, i'm a carpenter by trade and do a bit of mechanics so it not take long to do.
I have a jaguar xk8 for sale in the classified section, it is on irish plates, would suit an uk buyer maybe, spread the word, its under heading
FS[Europe]: Don't miss out, immaculate 2004 xk8 for sale,

It's a complete **** to get to - it's buried in between the dash and the transmission tunnel. The only way to get to it is by dropping the transmission or pulling the entire dash out. Which is why this alternative fix is quite attractive to those who suffer the problem.

The "Premium Sound" option's woofer and remote amplifier are somewhere in the passenger foot-well. Is, or would this be, a complication?

I never saw a sub woofer but not sure if I have the same sound system. I believe I have Alpine system.

The 5.0 models have a modified 'duck bill' with most of one side cut away, thus reducing the chance that the two sides will stick together and block the tube. It could still happen, but it's considerably less likely.

Premium sound has an active top center dash speaker. Premium sound also has 2 speakers on each door, back seat side speakers, center dash top speaker and sub woofer and "remote" 525 watt amplifier in passenger footwell. Premium sound has 8 speakers total. Basic stereo system has the 4 door speakers and 2 back side speakers for a total of 6 speakers. No passenger footwell speaker/amplifier.

Hi

Trying to do this right now. Does the blower motor have to come off in order to drill in and fix the barb, or does the barb go into the blower motor?

Thanks!

John

Guys, please stop. Don't drill. The duckbill can be fixed in an hour with no tools made, no holes drilled. I've done it to mine, no issues since I did it:
