Default Check engine Light

Hello everyone i have been haveing an issue with my check engine light coming on. Recently installed a new engine with only 60,000 miles. I also got my tranny serviced and everything is working great. I took the car to get a smog and it didn't pass because the check engine light WOULD NOT come on.they gave me a code p1392. i changed the bulb but no luck all the other lights come on..ANY advice.

P1392 is camshaft position sensor. Replace and should resolve.

That is not correct for a '98. According to the DTC guide for a '98 XK in JTIS, P1392 is a VVT solenoid open circuit in bank A.

It could be just a bad connection or unplugged connector on VVT solenoid at the front of the engine.

huntjoseph, please ask your questions in the '96-'06 XK8 forum to make sure you get the correct audience.
