Default Clicking Sound

Whenever I start the car in accessory mode I hear a clicking sound from the back. Whenever I turn on the e brake I hear a clicking sound as well and when I turn it off I also hear a clicking sound.

Is this normal? Could it be a fuse or is it the battery.

Welcome Minty

Some (basic) questions:

1) Age of car?
2) Age and charge state battery?
3) Length of your ownership?
4) Has it always done this
5) Do you use a battery maintainer?

Apologies if you've never posted on an on-line forum before or you're new to driving...or in other words HELP US TO HELP YOU

Not sure of the MY of your car, but this thread may help - it refers to MY 2010 and newer XKs. Look at post #5.

MintyJag registered 2 days ago, posted the question, logged out 3 minutes later and has not been back.

I know the post was made in Kansas City, Missouri by a 21 year old who possibly has an X150. However, unless and until we get a reply to MarkyUK's questions in post #2, I'll not be speculating on the noise.

I will not reply to a member whose signature block or Public Profile does not include their location and the year, make, and model of their car. It's the least a member can do to expect a meaningful reply.

Your first posts suggests you think the noise is electrical and not mechanical. A "clicking" sound can often occur from a relay.

I recommend using a battery maintainer on your XKR. Modern Jaguars are very sensitive to battery condition and state of charge. All kinds of weird electrical/electronic happenings result from a partially discharged or failing battery. This is not necessarily the solution to the clicking but is always a good initial step in troubleshooting.
